What is a Refractor Telescope?

A refractor telescope uses glass lenses to collect, focus, and magnify incoming light. It is one of the three main types of telescopes, alongside reflector and catadioptric telescopes.

Refractors were the first telescopes invented, with the earliest known telescope developed in 1608. Their simple, enclosed optical design makes them popular for astronomy, observation, and astrophotography.
