A Universe of Possibilities in a Compact Package: The Celestron RASA 6!
The much-anticipated Celestron 6” Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt (RASA) is here and ready to deliver you bright, detailed images at an unbelieved speed! Boasting game-changing optics with an astonishingly fast f/2.2 focal ratio and weighing in at a jaw dropping 8.4 lbs., the RASA 6" is a dream come true for astrophotographers on the move. This scope will certainly have you out under the night sky more than ever before!
The Unmatched Optical Design of the Celestron RASA
Celestron's patented Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph design brought the latest innovations in optical engineering into the hands of countless amateur astrophotographers and professionals alike, and the RASA 6 is ready to carry that legacy above and beyond, unlocking the cosmos for more people than ever before!
Packed inside this powerful astrograph is a Schmidt corrector, a primary mirror with enhanced aluminum coatings, a three-element lens group crafted from rare-earth materials, and a built-in filter drawer optimized for a clear 2" optical filter. All of this is housed in a remarkably compact design weighing less than half that of the larger 8" model, while still delivering excellent light-gathering capability at an outstanding speed. The result is more signal, less noise, and significantly less time needed to capture stunning astrophotos. In just 30 seconds, the RASA 6 can capture more detail than a standard f/10 system can in 10 minutes. At this exceptional speed, you can make the most of every clear night under the stars and collect substantial amounts of imaging data—even when the weather doesn't cooperate.
Reach new heights with the RASA 6!
Capture stunning astrophotos and spend less time processing with the RASA 6! Built to bring the masses the latest innovations in optical engineering, this astrograph is ready to take your astroimaging game to new heights. Whether you're capturing the cosmos from your home base, or out chasing distant dark skies, this telescope will have you out eager to get outside at every chance possible! Dig into the details below and learn why RASA 6 is the talk of the town!
Large 6” Optics
Sporting 6” of aperture, 335 mm focal length, and wickedly fast f/2.2 focal ratio, the RASA 6 will have you collecting more data than you have time to process! The wide field of view is perfect for capturing vast portions of the night sky, such as the busy Sagittarius constellation, the hydrogen-rich Cygnus region, the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, and plenty more. In addition to this, the fast light gathering power and wide field of view is much less demanding on the telescope mount. In some cases, autoguiding may not even be required for sharp images!
Unrivaled Portability
The days of refractors dominating the grab and go title are no longer! The Celestron RASA 6 is redefining what can be achieved with a compact optical tube. Weighing in at a mere 8.4lbs, the RASA 6 weighs less than half that of the 8” model, while still providing sub arc second resolution, plenty light gathering power, and coma free color correct images. Refractors are no longer the only business in town! With a system this fast, packed into an OTA this light, you’ll be able to bring the scope under distant dark skies and capture stunning astrophotos with ease!
Effortless Camera Attachment
Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrographs are designed solely for astrophotography, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the RASA 6 can deliver sub-arcsecond resolution. Providing a wide 3.8 ;° field of view and 16mm image circle optimized for 1” and 4/3 sized sensors, this telescope offers edge to edge sharpness, color correct and coma free imaging for numerous CMOS and CCD cameras. It can even support sensors up to 22 mm diagonal with minimal light loss. The RASA 6 also comes with an integrated 2” filter drawer that accepts both 1.25” and 2” filters, a clear optical filter designed to maintain peak performance when not imaging with other compatible optical filters, as well as a M42 T-thread camera adapter that will allow you to reach a desired back focal distance of 17.5 mm.
Please note: DSLRs are incompatible with the RASA 6, and camera bodies larger than 4” are not recommended as it will lead to decreased field illumination.
