Featuring a generous 0.7x reduction factor, the Askar 107PHQ/130PHQ/151PHQ Universal Reducer can provide a faster optical system with a much wider field of view. Askar claims this reducer produces round stars on a full frame sensor. In practice, Agena Astro affiliate Dark Sky Geek / Julien Lecomte tested this reducer on the 151PHQ and found misshapen stars near the edges of a full frame sensor. Therefore, we recommend using an APS-C sensor or cropping the image on a full frame sensor to achieve round stars with this reducer. However, modern tools like BlurXTerminator may be able to help reduce the misshapen stars near the edges of a full frame sensor.

The 0.7x reducer has the following effects:
- Askar 107PHQ: Reduces the effective focal length from 749mm to 524mm and focal ratio from f/7 to f/4.9
- Askar 130PHQ: Reduces the effective focal length from 1000mm to 700mm and focal ratio from f/7.7 to f/5.4
- Askar 151PHQ: Reduces the effective focal length from 1057mm to 740mm and focal ratio from f/7 to f/4.9
Askar 107PHQ/130PHQ/151PHQ Universal Reducer Back Focus
The reducer is a triplet design with one ED lens element, and features a standard 55mm back focus for seamless connection with dedicated astronomy camera systems like ZWO and QHY. It also includes three threaded adapters depending on which kind your imaging train needs:
